The temporomandibular joint is formed by the upper part of the jaw and the temporal bone of the skull. This bone acts as a sliding hinge and can sometimes present problems due to the complexity of the movements it makes. These joints are what allow the jaw to move forwards and backwards, so they are essential to perform basic functions such as chewing or speaking.
Symptoms it can cause:
Difficulty opening and closing the mouth
Difficulty biting and chewing
